It's almost Turr time and with that comes a grueling six day journey across the state of North Dakota. This journey is filled with many trials and tribulations and those who dare to take on the challenge of following the tour are in for a real exciting adventure! So let's take a look at how the Turr plays itself out.

Night 1-Jamestown Speedway:

The opening night kicks off at the Jamestown Speedway and opening night often brings in one of the largest car counts for the Turr, especially for the IMCA Stock Cars. Opening night also brings in drivers with high hopes of getting a win or dare they dream it, the overall Turr championship for their respective division. However, night 1 isn't an easy night by any means. No no no, the highbanked 1/4 mile is tricky and will bite you if you aren't on your toes and that could mean disaster for your hopes and dreams for the Turr. Yes, Jamestown can be mean but if you play your cards right you will be headed to the second night sitting pretty. Oh, and don't forget to have the chicken gizzards from the concession stand or the boozie slushie.

Night 2- Nodak Speedway:

Welcome to the Playground of Power! Yes, if it's power that you are looking for to get you back on track you have come to the right place. Drivers will be coming to one of most aww inspiring tracks as the grandstands are absolutely massive. But drivers don't be in aww too long or you will be blown away by your competition as this place is known for it's speed. Fans will see some of the strongest local competition flex their muscle against the incoming Turr followers. They won't back down from the incoming challenge and they already know how to navigate the Playground of Power, so they will have the advantage at least for tonight. By the end of the second night we will start to see a group of strong contenders to take the overall Turr championship form.

Night 3- Nodak Speedway:

Hey this place looks familiar! Why not Minot for the double header? Yes, this year with the border still being closed Nodak will hold the double header for the Turr. By this point we are a third of the way through and the cars will start to see a few more rub marks on them as the drivers claw for every position to be gained. By this point some teams will have had to put the long nights in and may begin to feel some fatigue. So, you better grab an energy drink and stay awake as this is no time to fade away. Fans, this race will be an interesting one for you as the previous night will have given you an idea of who has this track figured out and the locals advantage may be all but gone. Those who power on through night three will be setting themselves up pretty for the points championship.

Night 4- Williston Basin Speedway:

We are on the back half of the Turr as we are now past the half way point and are in the Wild West of North Dakota. Did we say that it gets wild? Oh yes, it does! The Williston Basin Speedway when not plagued by rain or bad weather has some of the wildest racing moments on the Turr. From cars going through a fence and into the parking lot to the hometown hero Travis Hagen defending his turf, Williston is one of the wildest tracks on the Turr. Speaking of hometown heroes, the IMCA Stock Cars enters the realm of Dalton Flory and to beat him here is no easy feat especially this year. The drivers will have to keep their cool here as Williston can make or break a competitors championship run.

Night 5- Southwest Speedway:

Through the Badlands and down to Dickinson the Turr takes the scenic route as it nears the end. Don't get caught site seeing though as Dickinson can effectively make or break the championship for both divisions. By this points cars are feeling the fatigue of the grueling Turr and so are the competitors as the heat is wearing them down physically and the competition is wearing them down mentally. The Turr won't slow down and neither will the pace of the races as those who are out of the points championship are still racing for that big Turr victory and that could spell trouble for those in contention for the championship. Fans, you're in for a neat treat as the front stretch is the back stretch and the back stretch is the front stretch...yes it's confusing but once you get there you will understand.

Night 6- Dacotah Speedway:

You've made it to championship night! While some competitors may have fallen off the Turr from the beginning for one reason or another, this is hands down one of the smoothest tracks in the Midwest. Drivers, this is it the championship is determined on this night (if the points gap isn't too large) so you have to go for it or you might fall short. All you have worked for culminates on this night and to the victor goes the spoils. However, if you think you are going to waltz into Mandan and be uncontested you've got another thing coming. Some of the best ,modified drivers in IMCA are awaiting your arrival and are ready to put you a lap down. Fans, this is it. The wonderful week long journey is coming to an end but don't feel bad you're about to witness greatness happen as two drivers get put in the history books as champions! And as the night ends, we will all have great memories to reflect upon for years to come.

Six nights of racing, five wonderful tracks, and one amazing journey is what the Turr has instore for you. Whether you're a driver, a crewman, or a fan you will be treated to some of the best racing action of the year. Whether, you follow the Turr or can only be a part of it for one night you will get to witness and be part of a long standing event that is nationally known and if you are not able to attend you can catch it all on racexr.plus.
