This week is the Don Gumke Memorial at the Jamestown Speedway and it is already starting to sound like a can't miss race! There are going to be a ton of big named drivers in attendance as Jason Wolla, Austin Arneson, Marlyn Seidler, Casey Arneson, Robert Hellebust, Jason Grimes, and Shawn Strand are among a few that are expected to be in the field of entrants. The modifieds will be racing for $2,222 to win and for the honor to be named the first champion of the Don Gumke Memorial.
The Stampede Shakedown is looking to add to the night as they are looking for two modified drivers who have never competed at the Jamestown Speedway before. The Shakedown group will be covering the entrance fees for these two drivers. The number of entrants (2) that the Stampede Shakedown group is looking for is symbolic to the number Don Gumke ran when he raced. To further help out the Stampede Shakedown will also be helping a second class this weekend as they will be covering an additional two bomber drivers who have not raced at the Jamestown Speedway before.
If you are interested in taking up one of the entrant spots covered by the Stampede Shakedown and fit the criteria put in place send an email to thedakotadirt@gmail.com or message the dakota dirt facebook page! Remember this is only for modified and bomber drivers who have never raced at the Jamestown Speedway.
Also in attendance will be the Wissota Street Stock Tour sponsored by Steffes. This will be the second night of the tour as it will begin at the Dacotah Speedway the prior night and a lot of big named drivers are expected to be in attendance. Some names that are expected to be in attendance are the reigning national champion Jonny Carter, former national champion Justin Vogel, Todd Carter, Kyle Anderson, Billie Christ, Jake Froemke, Eric Riley, Ryan Satter, Kyle Dykhoff, and more! This will be their first of two stop at Jamestown for the Street Stock Tour.
The races will kickoff at 7:00 PM Saturday. The modifieds will run a set of inverted 10 lap heats and will have 15 lap b mains and a 30 lap a main. There are already numerous incentives for the drivers and for the modifieds they include the following:
