After an extremely hot weekend that saw a bunch of drivers opt to stay home the power rankings saw a change in a number of classes. The big race of the week was the Ironman 100 at the Dacotah Speedway. The IMCA modifieds would run qualifying heats and features on Friday and the the big 100 lap feature on Saturday. Kollin Hibdon would survive the heat and walked away with the $5,000 payday. Jeremy Keller would finish second after making a strong move to pass Austin Arneson for the lead before Hibdon would pass him in the later portion of the feature. Keller holds the top spot in the rankings but a hot Hibdon will more than likely see a boost in rankings once the rolling three week results move on to this week.
The NLRA late models has an outsider in the number one spot as Dave Mass continues his strong string of runs. The Canadian Shane Edginton continues to hold onto second and Cole Schill storms his way into the top 10. Dustin Strand had an impressive victory at I-94 and Ryan Mikkelson had an impressive victory at Buffalo River Speedway as the NLRA made their return to the speedway,
NOSA saw their Friday show with the WOO get cancelled as they could only get through qualifying before rain would claim the night. Brendan Mullen would win at Devils Lake the following night which saw a few drivers split from the NOSA crew to chase the WOO at Granite City. Jordan Graham saw a nice jump this week as he is now in the top 5 and other big movers are Colton Young and Zach Omdahl.
The rest of the classes saw a lot of changes as well. However, this week brings a ton of opportunities for points to be won and lost. One week long event is the Tougher than Dirt Tour as the IMCA Sport Mods and IMCA Hobby Stocks will race five nights on the Western part of the state. Then there is the 2nd Annual Don Gumke Racers Memorial at Jamestown which should be a huge event for IMCA modifieds, Wissota Street Stocks, and ND Hobby Stocks. From there the Steffes Street Stock Tour will head over to Sheyenne and the tour has had a very large following, so there will be a ton of points up for grabs. Severe weather across the state will also play a factor as it could possibly keep tracks from racing. However, there is a ton of racing to take in this week as almost every track in the state will be racing. So get out and support all of your local tracks and maybe even a few that you will need to travel to!
