Cold Weather Leads to Some Shake Ups in Standings

Writer: AdminAdmin

Last weeks cold and rainy weather impacted the power rankings as there were some noticeable names that refrained from racing. The cancellation by Jamestown also made an impact in multiple divisions as well. However, this past week also saw the rolling three week format come into play and the Eastern side of the state have logged enough races now to be fully in contention. All classes are seeing excellent races and the standings are seeing the top dawgs switching spots on a regular basis.

Two classes with drivers who seem to have a strangle hold on the number one ranking are the IMCA Sport Compacts and the IMCA Stock Cars. Ken Sandberg and Dalton Flory are on extremely impressive winning streaks and need to continue their winning ways as the competition are nipping at their heels.

The next class of interest are the IMCA Modifieds. With the East finally getting their third week of racing in, the class now represents the true parity of the racing when looking at the East versus West. Casey Arneson has the top spot but Dacotah Speedway representatives Shawn Strand, Marlyn Seidler, and Jeremy Keller continue to bring the pressure to steal the top spot. Speaking of the West, Travis Hagen is continuing his strong season as he represents Western side of the state and the Williston Basin Speedway.

This weekend there is a lot of racing taking place and that will surely play into next weeks Power Rankings. Tonight the NLRA heads East to Grand Rapids Minnesota and the Steffes Street Stock Tour kicks off this weekend at I-94. Elsewhere, there will be racing at Jamestown, Nodak, River Cites, Red River, Mandan, Thunder Mountain, Devils Lake, and at the Sheyenne Speedway. If Mother Nature decides to play nice drivers and race fans should be in for a great weekend!
