The tiny town of Underwood is often passed by without a second glance as travelers head to and from Bismarck or Minot. Tonight the population of Underwood will swell from 771 to easily over 1,000 as the McLean County Speedway hosts the IMCA Modifieds for the only time this year. Yes, it is the tracks biggest race of the year as it is the Quality Dirtworks, LLC Showdown B4 Sundown.

This year the Showdown has confirmed a list of the top IMCA drivers from the state. So far the drivers who are slated to participate are Kody Schlopp, Robert Hellebust, Tyson Turnbull, Wayne Johnson, Travis Olheiser, Mike Tomlinson, Marcus Tominson, Myles Tomlinson, Tom Berry Jr., Tracy Domagala, Chad Bush, Lucas Rodin, Kit Baumann, Jason Dinius, Travis Peery, Zach Dockter, Shawn Nostdahl, Tim Perkins, Dallas Rice, Travis Ulmer, John Correll, and Robert Sigmann. Two other notable names that have confirmed that they will be in attendance the Reigning IMCA National Points Champion Jason "Big Show" Wolla and local hometown hero Marlyn Seidler. The field is absolutely stacked with big hitters and hot drivers as they will compete in a rising purse.
Yes, the purse continues to fluctuate as the IMCA Modified field grows. The track has gone out of it's way to add an extra $100 for each car entered after 15 cars. First place was originally supposed to take home $1,000 but with the updated list of drivers first is taking home no less than $1,900 if all of the drivers show up. What also plays a factor in tonight's car count is the fact that the Dacotah Speedway is not racing to give the Mandan Rodeo time to set up. This allows the field of thirty plus IMCA Modifieds the night off to possibly attend. This all makes for the perfect combination for an amazing night of racing at Underwood and all that is needed is a great turnout of fans.
You will not want to miss the Quality Dirtworks, LLC Showdown B4 Sundown as it will be a little preview of the quality and talent that will be on display during the Dakota Classic Modified Tour. In attendance for the night will be the IMCA Sport Mods, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Hobby Stocks, and the trophy class. The green flag drops at 7:00 PM tonight and you need to make sure to get there early to get a seat as this has the makings to be a sold out race! Don't be late!
